Issue Date: 3-Nov-2022
Series/Report no.: UNIKL MIMET;
Abstract: This project aims to design a student identification system based on fingerprint as the biometric for taking attendance in institution level. This helps to solve the problem of taking student attendance through conventional method such as using attendance paper and QR code scanning. The old conventional method of taking attendance is ineffective as it is prone to loss of data and time-consuming. Besides that, this system can curb all the possibilities of students helping their friends in taking attendance and ensure an authentic person is present in class as it uses biometric fingerprint for attendance identification. To develop this device, Arduino Board is used together with fingerprint reader to track down students’ attendance. This device is capable of adding, deleting, verifying, and storing students’ fingerprints in which students only need to scan their fingerprint to verify and mark their attendance. Researcher will implement the system on all the BME students from batch 2018. Then researcher will analyse the outcome and gather the data.
