Abstract: | Water parameters is an important to determine water quality. The aim of this study is to identify the level of water quality at UniKL MIMET Shipyard in order to achieve the aim of this research which to collect data of water quality parameters daily and to measure water quality index level. For this study water sample were collected daily during 01 April 2019 to 30 May 2019 (60 Days) and important water quality parameters were analysed. Developing of equipment to collect water sample in three different depths which is 0.5 meter, 1 meter and 1.5 meter at fixed place and weather condition are considered the challenging part during the process of this research. The chosen water parameter to analyse is pH, temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO) and total dissolved solid (TDS). It is found that the pH for all sample ranged from 7.4 to 8.4 whereas DO varied from 9.42 mg/L to 12.85mg/L, TDS is 4002p.p.m to 9795p.p.m, while temperature range from 30°C to 34.6°C and salinity are revealed changeless in value which between 23‰ to 24‰. Thus, the findings of this study revealed after evaluation and analysis using selected Water Quality Index formula that the water quality status in UniKL MIMET Shipyard is moderately polluted due to several maritime activities surrounding the area. |
