This paper gives an overview of the design and development of Bachelor of Aviation Management (Hons) program which at the same time fulfill the customer needs and industry demands. UniKL MIAT being an institute for aviation technology foresees the need for more qualified personnel to manage existing and new organizations in the industry that will have to face stiff global competition. The program will cater for the development of workforce which is currently at the supervisory level, looking for a route towards improving their career path. It will also cater for personnel outside the industry looking at entering job markets created in the industry. The program is intended for these groups to acquire the knowledge and skills without having to disrupt their work routine therefore, the part time approach. Existing organization will be expected to capitalize this program as a means to develop new employees for the industry. It is also the hope of the Institute to make this program as a platform for the expertise of the industry to impart their experience through joint Industry and Institute program and encourage the industry to move away from the current recruitment by poaching philosophy which is very costly. This program is designed to produce managers who are knowledgeable and competent in the various aviation duties and management functions, adaptable in any aviation organizational environment and also up-to-date with business and technology trends. Companies could be encouraged to sponsor their brighter employees to complete this degree program which will also provide them with motivated staff. Furthermore, companies would be able to save costs through the sponsorship instead of setting up the in-house training department for continuous education development.en_US
