Abstract: Railway is one of the best public transportation in the most developed country in Asia, Europe and America. In Malaysia, the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) recorded that the average daily ridership of trains in the city of Kuala Lumpur is improving. A system titled The Development of Passenger Intrusion Emergency Stop System (PIES) has been introduced in order to improve the safety measure in railway industry. Hence this paper reviews the working principle of the Passenger Intrusion Emergency Stop System (PIES) along with the brief of basic operation description. It thoroughly investigates the implementation work towards the techniques developed that are being carried out in the system. The paper examines the various significant technology that has evolved to address the problem statements.
