Authors: Wan Nurzarifah Binti Wan Azmi
Issue Date: 22-May-2013
Abstract: PIC is a family of Harvard architecture microcontrollers made by Microchip Technology. The name PIC initially referred to “Programmable Interface Controller”. PICs are popular with both industrial developers and hobbyists alike due to their low cost, wide availability, large user base, extensive collection of application notes, availability of low cost or free development tools, and serial programming. This paper describes the PIC microcontroller as a main controller, the motion sensor which is Passive Infra Red (PIR) as a detector, the voltage regulator module is used to protect PIC and other connected sensors / actuators from over voltage and lastly, the timer will be showed by LCD display to count down the timer of the detection movement. Furthermore, in this paper also explain the basic concepts of operational on how this system is detected by Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor through the object.
