Abstract: The use of cctv camera for surveillance is not a cost-effective solution because it needs lot of space for storing its continuous recording. In this work we develop a safety and monitoring system using IoT based face counting system. The proposed system uses a camera connected to raspberry pi. Comparison between the microcontrollers and sensors are made to observe the efficiency and performance of each item. Each part has its own advantage and disadvantage. Combining sensors could be more efficient. The most compatible will be chosen to develop the project. This project had a lot of benefits to society and industrial. In 2018, about 65 percent of safety and monitoring system are installed due to personal or business purpose. This shows that how important this system is currently. Furthermore, this system in the market are very expensive due to high technology, by lower the cost but same level efficiency, it can increase the percentage of individual to install this system. Finally, data are store in cloud via internet and can view any computer device.
