Title: Development of Staff Availability Display Board Using Arduino

Abstract: In Malaysia, Availability Display Board had been used at the majority of offices. Traditionally, one staff will be assigned to update the availability board manually in case of staff member is absent or in a meeting on the working day. If any staff can’t attend on the working day, they have to inform the staff on duty to update their attendance. This is inefficient and will waste a lot of time and energy for the staff just to update the status of the staff on the whiteboard either to write down or change the configuration the board accordingly. To cater this problem, a new Availability Display Board project had been proposed. For this project, staff availability board system will be developed using Arduino and the attendance status can be controlled by using Blynk server and Staff Display Control application. The staff attendance status on the display board will be indicated by using different Light Emitting Diode (LED) colours. Therefore, there will be no need for staffs to manually update the availability by hand and will save a lot of time and energy thus improving work efficiency and productivity.
