Issue Date: 5-Mar-2019
Abstract: In the hospital, every patient has to linger for a long time in the healthcare facility while waiting for a health care provider to attend to them. Waiting is a crucial issue in an organization due to the impact it has on the operations, competency and value-added service to patients. This project is based on the observation of patients who have to queue for too long without committing to the estimated time for their demand. So, in this project, a system is developed to handle a queue without causing customers to actually line up. A wireless wearable device is used to monitor the status of their queue position. As enter a service-oriented economic era, it is necessary to be equipped with the knowledge to effectively deal with queuing management techniques to overcome customer dissatisfaction. This project successfully achieves its goal as a tool to organize queuing of patients in a hospital, where patients can access their queuing information remotely via Bluetooth and an android application.
