Title: Development of Fall Detection Device for Elderly Monitoring

Abstract: Falling is one of the major problem among elderly and patient that required the timely rescued. The fall incident may lead them to major injury or death. The fall detection is important for elderly who has weak and unbalance body due to limited physical activities and for the patient especially the heart attack patient. The incident of fall is not predictable also not avoidable among them. The existing fall detector nowadays are limited in area detection of location. The main idea of this project is to design and develop a fall detection. The purpose of this project is to detect the incident fall among elderly and heart attack patient using accelerometer. This project also to notify the guardian on falling incident and the abnormal of heart rate. The main components in this project are accelerometer sensor, Arduino Nano, GSM, and GPS. The fall incident is detected by accelerometer with using the value of acceleration and sum vector magnitude. The Arduino will ask the signal from both accelerometer and GPS to interpret. GPS will detect the location and send a notify message to guardian through GSM module. Hence, a warning message to notify the guardian with the link website of google map to give the detail fall location with latitude and longitude value.
