Issue Date: 26-Feb-2019
Abstract: In recent years, heart rate-monitoring device has been advancing in terms of technology. This project is a photoplethysmography (PPG) based heart rate monitoring system. The main purpose of this project is to develop a heart rate monitoring prototype that aims for the usage of user with tachycardia condition, which can measures heart beat and gives out an alarm if the user have abnormal heart rates. This prototype consists of MAX30100 pulse oximeter sensor which will measure the heart rate, SpO2 concentration and body temperature. Arduino NANO as the processing system, connected to the organic light emitting diode (OLED) display, and a Bluetooth module which pairs with an application at the userÕs phone that will send out a text message and the location to the number that is set. This prototype is able to measure the heart rate, SpO2 concentration and the body temperature, and display the reading at the OLED display and trigger the sound alarm with vibration via application if the use has abnormal heart rate readings.
