Abstract: This project is an attempt to outline and construct of an individual control automation system using DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency) decoder technology and atmega328p microcontroller. With the combination technologies of these two devices, this project uses the (DTMF) technique used in touch tone telephones, to control multi electronic devices from long distances using the mobile phone. The automation features of this work make it possible for premise owners to remotely control a large number of appliances, indoor and outdoor lamps and lights, landscape sprinkler timers and more using their mobile phones. This project is a demonstration of how to design and build a multipurpose remotely controlled system that can switch OFF and ON any electrical appliances by dialing a phone that is already interfaced between DTMF and relay for the automatic switching on and off of the appliances and the phone will send a feedback to the microcontroller. The relay will do the responsibility to do the future action to the appliances. Either switch on or switch off. The results of this project show that microcontroller is a powerful device for building smart and good electronic devices that can automatically control electrical appliances, with little circuitry complexity and components.
