Abstract: The ability to speak and hear is a gift given from god to us since birth. There are a lot people are in this group. This group that do not have the ability are considered to be true disability. People with this disability use another method which is sign language in their communication. Sign language allows people to communicate with human body language which each word has a set of human actions representing a particular expression. Some people in the community are easily understand the information or the meaning of the sign language. The remaining cannot convey the message and are not able to understand what they need. In order to overcome this problem, the project was proposed to improve the sign language translator via voice speaker. This translator uses flex sensors and force pressure resistor to detect the movement and hand gestures. Then, the data collected from sensors will be sent to the Arduino. The Arduino matches the database in the memory and will translate the gestures. This system will use the speaker as an output source. So, the system will detect the hand gestures and translate them into the voice speaker so that can be used as medium to communicate between the disable and normal people.
