Issue Date: 11-Oct-2017
Abstract: The purpose of development of this project is to develop an automatic pet feeder using a type of microcontroller which is Arduino. The automatic pet feeder that are develop is a device that can feed food to the pet when the owner are home and also when they are not home. The automatic pet feeder can be categorized as pet food dispenser, with electronic controller that can be programmed to alter the working of the pet feeder. This project uses servo motor, infrared sensor and also buzzer to make it working. The servo motor will be used as mechanical power, infrared sensor will be used as food level sensor while the buzzer will act as feeding notification. Furthermore, to improve the pet feeder, a type of system that can be controlled from anywhere as long as there is internet is adapted to the project. This system will use Wi-Fi/access point with internet connectivity and with an application in android or iOS phone to control the project. Using the phone, the user can monitor food level, control feed timer and also feed food instantly. This can be considered as drastic changes in this project compare to previous which use only normal timer only. Other than that, the application in the android and also iOS has a very user friendly interface to allow user to connect the project with the Blynk cloud server.
