Abstract: Today’s technologies are getting advanced each day and without noticing, we also consume too much power in a day. This is not good for the world and also to the person themself. Everyone used to work late at night and most students chose to burn the midnight oil. They require more power as they need to stay awake the whole night with the help of the table lamp. This may lead to an increase to the electric bill as well. We found a possible way that can be very useful not only for the students, but for anyone that might require this table lamp. Besides, by having this alternative, we can prevent excessive amount of power consumed. The automatic table lamp also eases the user to use it without having to worry in case they forget to off the lamp manually. We modified an existing table lamp into an automatic table lamp which only will light up whenever there is someone in front of it. The person also can choose to on and off it manually. There will be an ultrasonic sensor which will detect the presence of a person or an object and let the lamp on as long as there is something in the specific range. Hence, with the existence of the new automatic table lamp, everyone can worry less about the power consume. The electric bill will be reduced as well.
