Abstract: One of the major problems faced by every institution in produce the good students is the probation student which need more attention. Thus, this research had been come out due to solve the problem confronting by university or college institution. This research is about the improvement plan for probation for probation student at maritime institution but it also can be applied at another institution. Basically probation (PB) student was placed under the PB condition because of their grades under the standard grades of university itself. Thus, this research was conducted to identify the factors that contributes to PB condition and to determine the plan for PB student to improvise their academic performance. To achieve the purpose of this research, the questionnaire has been distributed to the 13 respondents in Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute Marine Engineering Technology (UNIKL MIMET). The data were analyses using Statistical Package for The Social Science (SPSS) to know the reliability test of the questionnaire (use Cronbach’s Alpha), descriptive analysis (to get the mean). The results of the research had been discussed in detailed in Chapter 4. As the conclusion, students acknowledge the factors that contribute to probation condition but they do not want to overcome it. Thus, their results drop. Students itself need to change their attitude to change their future. The administrator also needs to give more attention to the student under probation. It is to reduce the number PB student.
