Title: STUDY THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND MATERIAL COMPOSITION OF SHIP PROPELLER WHICH MANUFACTURED THROUGH SAND CASTING PROCESS
Authors: MUHAMMAD ZAINUDDIN BIN MD SAAD
Issue Date: 7-Jun-2016
Abstract: The research is on material testing process in producing great and suitable result for ship propeller. The process is producing by preparing the specimen for mechanical testing. The casting processes conform on centrifugal workbench for a few minute for 24 hour after machining. The machining need to follow the specification standard. The result of testing is depended on tensile machine and hardness machine. Material composition is determined by spectrometer. Base on the result show that significant improvement in mechanical properties for propeller structure up to 150 rpm rotation speed. Where the result shows mechanical properties is different based on propeller projection. The result show that the different between latitude projections have the higher strength compare to the longitudinal projection.
