Authors: Luqman Bin Mohammad Noh
Issue Date: 18-Dec-2015
Abstract: Kids in upper primary school nowadays are independents to iron their own clothes, whether before going to school or going out without or minimal adult supervision. Conventional electric smoothing iron is not suitable used by kids as several aspects may expose kids to safety and hazard and unergonomic features of conventional electric iron. This study was aim to design a prototype of electric smoothing iron for kids use. With the initial proposal of induction technology in replacement with resisting heating that been use currently in today conventional electric smoothing iron. The propose idea may help developed an electric smoothing iron that offered safe, economical and ergonomic appliance for kids used. Induction heating is a method of producing heat in localized is on susceptible metallic object. Induction heating including an AC electric signal on heating loop or coil placed near a specific location on a round the metallic object that need to be heat. By applying the idea of heating mentioned earlier, the research study was hopping this project successful in answering the problems highlighted. This research paper literature review goes through on old patent and existing product of conventional electric iron, article and books, and others related about the subjected topic. While at the next section, the topic will discuss on methodology of this paper, basically on workflow, primary and secondary data source and others more. The second last section is result and discussion section where primary data source is intemperate before proceeding to designing process and product prototype making. At the end, the paper will briefly conclude this research paper with recommendation for future planning in case if the research continued.
