Title: Optimizing Number Of Rivet For A Butt Joint By Using Tensile Testing
Authors: Mohamad Ikram Haiqal Bin Nor Sham
Issue Date: 15-Sep-2015
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to find the appropriate number of rivet for a butt joint for tensile stress. In the aircraft, there are a lot of part that connected by using rivet. So, the correct number of rivet is needed. Therefore, this project will determine the suitable number of rivet for a butt joint surface repair to achieve sustainability in tensile stress. The research will focused on the comparison between specimens with different number of rivet on the aluminum sheet with butt joint. The tensile strength evaluation is done by experimental analysis. The results will be compared with the different number of rivet on the specimen. Specimens test will be prepared based on ASTM to determine the appropriate number of rivet that needed for a butt joint by using tensile testing. The conclusion will be based on the results and the discoveries that will be found during the research that will be conducted.
