Title: A FEASIBILITY STUDY OF DUAL FUEL ENGINES USING DIESEL AND NATURAL GAS FOR SMALL SCALE FISHING BOAT
Authors: MUHAMAD FARHAD BIN MOHD YASIN
Issue Date: 10-Sep-2015
Abstract: Natural gas known to be as better fuel in term of savings and emission compare to petrol. It has been used widely in land transportation and passenger ferry. This study discussed the method of fuel saving using combination of diesel engine and natural gas. The purpose of this study is to help the fishermen to reduce high operating costs which are mainly contributed from high fuel consumption. Eventhough fishermen in Malaysia received fuel subsidy, but it is still a burden to most of small-scale fishermen due to the use of outboard engines which is fuel inefficient.
