Title: FEASIBILITY STUDY OF COST ESTIMATION OF MEGA OFFSHORE STRUCTURE AT DESIGN STAGE
Authors: MOHAMAD ADIB ASHRAF BIN ISHAK
Issue Date: 10-Sep-2015
Abstract: The Mega Offshore Structure Design is an independent floating static system designed. If the probable cost of building the mega offshore structure is found at the beginning stage, the forecasting to supply resources will be optimize and so on will beneficial for investors. This study intends develop cost estimation model for mega offshore structure at design stage. It starts with defining of techno economic variables and data collection will be conducted. Economic analysis will be carried out to validate the results. The structure will utilize the concept of box-shape floating pontoon and concrete is chosen as the main material for hull as it possesses distinct advantages compared to steel (Gerwick, 2000) while steel will be used as the topside structure material.
