This paper proposed a development of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology system in spending items or goods during the shopping time. The current payment system in stores is using barcode and a scanner to read the code. By scanning the code, the information of the product such as name, price and others could be identified. Furthermore, the product price tag needs to be scan one by one by the scanner to get the prices and also the total price. Hence customers have to wait some times before paying the total price to the cashier in which not convenient at all. RFID is a technology that can be used to overcome these existing problems and improve the current system of payment method at the payment counter. Thus, RFID technology system is proposed in this paper as an effort to replace the existing barcode system. A system design provided with RFID scanner and LCD display to ease customers to scan any wish purchase items and at the same time a setting keypad as a self-budget to display the balance once the items scanned. In this project paper, #C programming language is used to program the whole system. This new system guarantees the product prices and the balance price after the customers key-in a budget that could be displayed all at once. Hence, RFID technology is a way to improve the quality of services provided by retailers and to amplify the customer value thus allowing save time and make life easier.en_US
