metadata.fyp.dc.description.abstract: The widespread use of monitoring system allows development of PC-based low cost baby monitoring system. Recently, most of the place including residence is provided by the security system that will ensure the owners and the properties are secure. This system will help the baby sitter or mothers to keep an extra eye on the babies at the nursery or home. The system consists of transmit circuit sound/audio and computer display unit. The FM radio transmitter and FM radio receiver as to detect the voice of babies at the nursery or home when they leave the babies at bed room. The display unit is used to monitor the home situation by using the parallel port connector to interface between the transmit circuit and the display unit. The Baby Monitoring System in Nursery or home will alert the baby sitter and mother by a voice that allow from the transmitter to the receiver at the display unit when the transmitter detect the baby voice if they itch, cry, sneeze etc. The FM Radio transmitter will be placed near at baby bed. When the baby not comfortable and being out some voice, then it will detect the baby not in the comfortable or what else then detect send to receiver. The baby’s mother or the guidance that call as baby sitter then will take an immediate action based on the information displayed by computer’s screen. This project also can be done with minimum cost. This project only used 1 camera only which cost RM100 for CCTV and the laptop to monitor. While the implementing of baby monitoring system will used more cost to be done because the price of the camera and decoder is quite expensive plus the usage of the camera also limited according to the port at the decoder. The port at the decoder majority with the maximum 32 ports only. But for this project baby monitoring system, only use 1 camera port. This project can be limited according to the existence of IP address but there are only limited IP addresses that can be used cause this project focus to baby sitter and security baby at home when leave them alone. The performance of IP camera also same as the monitoring system. The monitoring system is wireless so the user can monitor the baby room at everywhere at home. The monitoring system only has 1 camera, this project need another PC or only need to change the IP address in the software to monitor other cameras according their own IP address. This project aims to utilize the communication infrastructure to develop a most effective solution for home and baby sitter using an IP Camera, server software and monitor system. The system will harness the advancement outline above to use a number of technologies for this purpose.
