Authors: MUHAMMAD SYAKIRULAMIN BIN MAZALAN
Issue Date: 19-Jun-2015
Abstract: The major aim of this research is to design and analyze the preliminary design of Fast Crew Boat. Based on research, Fast Crew Boat is one of the major ship been used for the transportation of offshore personnel between offshore location and land. This study is to conduct a design for a Fast Crew Boat which length in 40 meter, monhull type. Besides, this research is also to evaluates the resistance of the Fast Crew Boat as well as to achieve desire speed at 30 knots. The sequences of process will be based on the design spiral approach but only focusing at Preliminary Design stage that cover the hull form creation, lines plan, hydrostatic analysis, general arrangement drawing, weight estimation, resistance prediction, and also power estimation. The result of the design and analysis hopefully can be the first step for UniKL MIMET on producing own design. Besides, as to support Malaysian shipbuilding industries by introducing original local design, this study is very crucial to be continued.
