This project entitled The Development of Angle Detector for MPPT for Tidal Turbine Generator requires the development of angle detector in tidal turbine generator to produce maximum power. The most common method used to produce the maximum power in tidal stream is by varying the velocity of the water. The development of angle detector will indicate the most suitable angle to produce maximum power. Tidal stream generators draw energy from currents in the same way as wind turbines. As in wind power, location of the plant is important in order to generate better power or electricity. The development of angle detector that will be used in this project is selector switch with 12 channels. This selector switch will help to detect the direction in terms of angle of water velocity (m/s) base on the flow of water. This research study will reviews on two main elements which are angle detector and MPPT used in tidal stream to draws on currents. The angle detector which is the selector switch is for detecting a change in position or posture. MPPT or Maximum Power Point Tracking is algorithm that included in charge controllers used for extracting maximum available power from angle detector under certain conditions. The voltage at which angle detector can produce maximum power is called maximum power point or peak power voltage. This project will enhance the development of tidal energy conversion since it is an efficient method in producing power. In addition it will improve energy generations from tidal energy.en_US
