Abstract: Development of rain energy harvester is the latest technology how to generate electricity by using rainwater energy. It’s a technology used to collect and store rainwater falling on the roof using simple techniques. Common system is constructed of 3 main components which are the catchment area, the collection device, and the transportation system. The development of this project drives two factors, the rainwater is one sources of renewable energy, so it can save our money especially for bills budget because this project use source from rainwater as main part for develop this project. Secondly, it to show how can we takes advantages from the falling of rainwater that we use everyday like watering garden, washing clothes, cleaning car and etc or other word is how we diversify the rainwater that fall on the roof. The principal operation for this project consist 3 main part namely rainwater storage, DC generator (couple with turbine) and water flow (pipe). To making rain as one source of the electrical energy, firstly, the rainwater must be stored on the rainwater storage. After that, rainwater on storage will flow into the pipe and it will rotate the turbine and the DC generator. So, the rotating of the DC generator will be generating the electrical energy output. The combination of these components will be creating the new concept rain harvesting system is converting the mechanical energy from falling rainwater into electricity energy that can be used for consumers especially for household uses. The output energy was generated by DC generator. The power generated by DC generator will be charge the battery bank. So, the power from the battery bank can be use for low DC appliances like DC lamp, DC fan and also for phone charger. One important thing, the rainwater storage, pipe size and other components must be considered to generate electricity because these characteristics have an impact to the energy generate.
