dc.description.abstractConcern about fast depletion of petroleum-based fuels and its environmental impact has led many researchers to find other alternatives fuels. Research‟s studies on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has demonstrated that it is suitable as an alternative to conventional fuel and it can run cleaner at attractive prices and in large operation range. In present study, the performances characteristics of 4-stroke engine fuelled by Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) were mentally investigated. The primary objectives is to study the performance and emission of using Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as the fueled. The primary content of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is propane 60% and 40% butane. A single cylinder, 4-stroke spark ignition with 107cc and 9.2:1 compression ratio, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) kits and chassis dynamometer was used in the experiment. A gas Non Dispersive Infra- Red (NDIR) analyzer was used for measure CO, CO2, and HC produced by exhaust. Performances and emission between gasoline and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) was compared in term of brake power, brake mean effective pressure, brake specific fuel consumption and brake thermal efficiency. It was found that the BSFC and Ƞth show the improvement with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as an alternative fuel. The concentration level of CO, CO2 and HC lower than the engine fuelled by gasoline.en_US
