Abstract: Image processing plays an important role to automate a lot of problems in the world especially in medical treatment, safety purposes and also in industrial. Shape is one of the important features to enhance the images and very useful in image retrieval. Based on Image processing theory, the method for measuring distance and object identification will use pixel calculation of the image. All the input images must be converted into grey scale. Distance measurement is investigated based on the increasing of number of pixel, while object identification is focused on the location of the specific pixels. The expected result is the object can be automatically identified either square, triangle or circle with the distance measured from the camera. Result will be presented and investigated using MATLAB.
