Abstract: Objectives: This study examines the prevalence, associated factors and coping strategies related to burnout among healthcare professionals in Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB), Perak. Methods: This study used an analytic observational method with a cross-sec-tional design, collecting data via online and printed questionnaires. Health-care professionals from HRPB participated through non-probability convenience and snowball sampling. Descriptive statistics analysed the prevalence and coping mechanisms of mental and psychological burnout, while Pearson’s Chi-Square and inferential statistics identified associations between burnout and demographic factors such as age, gender, and edu-cation (p-value < 0.05). Results and Discussion: The study revealed a moderate prevalence of burnout (54.7%) among healthcare professionals at HRPB. Most participants experienced burnout related to personal and work factors (81.9%) andpatient-related factors (85.5%). Significant associations were found between burnout and the respondents’ age (p < 0.001) as well as professional status (p = 0.013). Among the coping mechanisms, religion was the most commonly utilised by healthcare professionals at HRPB. Conclusions: Burnout among HRPB healthcare professionals is moderately prevalent and significantly influenced by age and professional status factors. Religion is a primary coping mechanism for many. These findings highlight the need for government institutions to create targeted training programs and interventions to reduce burnout and improve healthcare professionals’ well-being and job satisfaction.
