| dc.description.abstract | Online Distance Learning (ODL) has become a vital component of higher education, particularly in response to global disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic. This study explores the multifaceted impact of ODL, focusing on its advantages and challenges. Key benefits include flexible learning schedules, cost-effectiveness, and increased accessibility for students from diverse geographical and socio-economic backgrounds. However, ODL also presents significant challenges, such as digital inequality, reduced social interaction, and the need for self-discipline among learners. Furthermore, faculty face difficulties in adapting teaching methods and ensuring student engagement. This paper provides an in-depth review of current practices, discusses the implications of ODL on academic performance and student well-being, and suggests strategies to optimise the ODL experience. The findings underscore the importance of institutional support, technological infrastructure, and policy interventions in addressing challenges, ensuring that ODL continues to evolve as a sustainable model for higher education. | en_US |
