Abstract: This research delves into the critical evaluation of energy efficiency in electrical appliances within terrace houses, with a specific focus on adherence to Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS). Against the backdrop of escalating global concerns regarding energy consumption and its environmental repercussions, this study endeavours to enrich the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) by scrutinizing MEPS awareness, scrutinizing energy consumption patterns utilizing MATLAB Software, and offering insights to foster a more sustainable trajectory. Employing a systematic research approach, encompassing questionnaire formulation, faceto-face interviews, and MATLAB data analysis, this study conducts a thorough examination of MEPS awareness and appliance energy utilization. The findings underscore a positive trajectory in MEPS awareness among surveyed residents, with approximately 43.3% demonstrating awareness, while the remaining 56.7% lack awareness, signalling the efficacy of communication initiatives. A graphical representation elucidates disparities in energy consumption, accentuating the imperative of optimizing appliance efficiency, particularly in refrigeration units. Contrarily, a scatter plot analysis indicates no discernible correlation between household size and energy usage, highlighting the multifarious energy consumption trends. The significance of this research transcends its immediate scope, aligning with the overarching objectives of the NETR. By evaluating MEPS compliance and advocating for energy-efficient behaviours, this study aspires to propel societal progress towards heightened energy consciousness and ecological sustainability. Ultimately, it seeks to bolster governmental endeavours aimed at fostering the adoption of energyefficient appliances, thereby advancing the collective ambition of achieving Net Zero Energy (NZE) status by 2050. Through meticulous exploration of the intricate dynamics between awareness, regulatory standards, and energy utilization, this research endeavours to catalyze a paradigm shift towards a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
