dc.description.abstractThe maritime industry consists of major and complicated logistic and supply chain system. It is one of the most interesting industries that involved big players. They sometimes face problems to choose the suitable courses to continue the studies. Therefore, this study aims to determine secondary school students’ interest in maritime studies. Three objectives of this study which are to measure high school student’s awareness in maritime studies, to analyses the student’s interest in maritime studies and to identify the best method that can be used to introduce maritime studies to new generation. This study is conducted in a few high schools in Masai Johor Bahru as there are many ports, hubs, warehouse and shipping company operated nearby. The data is collected from a survey which has been distributed to 100 students aged seventeen years old. Data from the questionnaire was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The result shows that the students still lack of knowledge or awareness about the maritime studies. Therefore, the university main play role to make promotions about maritime field for secondary school. For example, make a visit maritime institutions, port and ship building company.en_US
