The research was designed to implement VPN SSTP and L2TP/IPsec using real devices test-bed. The VPN network is based on Remote Access VPN environment. VPN has various tunnelling protocol that can be applied in the network structure. Thus, every VPN protocol has different performance level. The client does not know best VPN protocol in term of network performance. The objective for the VPN implementation is to analyse and compare the SSTP and L2TP/IPsec protocol based on bandwidth, throughput, jitter, packet loss and Round Trip Time (RTT) performance parameter. Test-bed have been conducted between two laptop as client and server, using open source VPN called Softether VPN manager and Windows legacy VPN client to evaluate its performance. Since a Remote Access VPN environment is required for the implementation, testing and analysis, setup have been done with VPN server located in private home network and client located outside the home network or mobile network. As the testing and analysis have been done we can conclude that in general the SSTP has better performance compared to the L2TP/IPsec.en_US
