Abstract: Reverse osmosis (RO) is a water purification technology that uses a semipermeable membrane to remove larger particles from drinking water. In reverse osmosis, an applied pressure is used to overcome osmotic pressure, a colligative property that is driven by chemical potential, a thermodynamic parameter. In less develop area, the shortage of water supply always occur. The source of water like a river is not very safe to drink because it may be polluted. The seawater is to salt to drink and not suitable for daily use. The reverse osmosis process can overcome the problem. This report shows the simple reverse osmosis device that cans changes seawater to pure water. This simple device use high pressure pump and filter membrane to change the water. The pump will deliver seawater to the filter membrane through the hose. The process of removing the chemical substances and bacteria will occur in the filter membrane.
