| dc.description.abstract | The tourism activities in Pulau Langkawi nowadays attract a lot of tourist from inside and outside Malaysia since there has a lot of beautiful and historical place to visit. Ferries form a part of the main public transport systems to Pulau Langkawi since it is much cheaper at the capital cost rather than using bridges or tunnel. But with the current situation, ferries services to Pulau Langkawi can be considered as uncomfortable and inconvenient due to the congested and long queue when boarding and departure from the ferry. Hand carry baggage by passengers which sometime is more from one passenger has made this situation becoming worse. With only one entrance door, it makes the passengers to wait too long before they can be seated and start the journey. As concern, so far Malaysia still did not produce the passenger ferry with the luggage compartment. In order to respond to that, this study is to produce the Preliminary Design for A 40m Passenger Ferry that can carry as much passengers at 36 knots of maximum speed. | en_US |
