Authors: Kamalul Ariffin Bin Zainal
Issue Date: 17-Sep-2015
Abstract: The idea of this project was originally come out from my discussion with my supervisor. Hj. Sahid Bin Ahmad and its done by my understanding through our study about propeller with the help from Mr Mujid Ahmad Bin Abd Rashid (specialist of wooden propeller). Generally people many people think that all imported item are much better compared to local item including a wooden propeller. Malaysian wood had a high strength to weight ratio, durability and also good working properties. So why not we utilized our local resource to make a propeller since our country have almost 60% of these natural woods and also can create a new market for wooden propeller. These wooden propeller are widely used not only in the aviation industry but also sport such as paramotor and hovercraft are the example of machine may that used wooden. Even though this sport are not very popular among Malaysian but if other countries such as U.S.A and European this sport are very popular. I truly believe this sport would be one that is mostly admired by our youngsters, therefor this wooden propeller would be a great demand and enable to boost up national revenue.
