Title: Robotic Arm Control Using Hand Gesture (Software)
Authors: Muhammad Aslam Bin Abdul Rashid
Issue Date: 14-Sep-2015
Abstract: A robotic arm is a mechanical arm which is designed to work similarly as a human arm does. It is usually programmable and arm may be a sum total of the mechanism or can be part of a complex robot. A 5 degree of freedom robotic arm with gripper will be used to lift any object and put it back safely. Different type of load materials will be testing and this may need an additional sensor which is force sensor to fulfil the criteria. The robotic arm with gripper will be interfaced by a hand-glove with bending sensors which is remotely controlled by wired connection. A controlling program converts the movement done by the glove into robotic motion. This implementation will help the remote handling in any protected or hazardous environment. The movement of the robotic motion will be translated into Graphical User Interface (GUI) at a personal computer. The graphical user interface will display the angle of the movement done by the robotic arm.
