Title: Design of Low Energy Lighting Source
Authors: Mohd Noor Ikram Bin Mohamed Nazari
Issue Date: 7-Jul-2015
Abstract: This project studied on designs of new lighting product by implementing LED technology. Problem identification came from candle. The flame will give risk to the human in based on fire cases reported. The light emission of candle inspires to create a new product that have the same light emission, however, less in energy and cost and the most important is safe to use. The understanding on candle lights is important to influence into the new design later. The methodology used in this research is fully followed product design process starting with idea generation or problem statement until a prototype produced. The light output also will be considered as one of important element in order to make the new design is success. The output from this research is a prototype based on the new design. The prototype result is successfully achieved which is in terms of brightness and light emission, thus it‘s achieved the objective. The new design also will consider the cost of product in order to provide as rough estimation. Based on the calculation, the new design is quite expensive but it can be as indicator when it‘s possible to manufacture.
