dc.description.abstract Electricity plays an important role in our daily lives. Energy efficiency is one of the important issues in relation to Electricity Consumption. In Malaysia, the largest number of electricity consumers is in the domestic sector and a large amount of electricity being consumed by them. However, efforts concerning energy-efficiency practices in a domestic sector still not seriously taken into consideration. As a result, lots of energy is wasted for no purpose. This action also brings to wasting of money because of increasing the electricity tariff day by day. By using energy in effective ways .We can save energy, which leads to reduction in energy generation, thus, fewer emissions of CO2. Therefore, transition to methods that make more effective use of energy should be carried out. The aim of this design is to give an indicator about the amount of energy consumption based on calculating the amount of current flow in the house to the consumers. So that, they can take certain action in order to reduce energy consumption. The result obtained shows that, this device is an able to detect any current flow in the house and gives indication in term of LED light according to the design specifications. This design by hope will help consumers to use electricity in efficient ways with the minimum waste of energy and money. en_US
