Abstract:
This project focuses on improvement of fire nozzle design in areas of optimization by minimize the backward thrust and improve the water flow system of fire nozzle for fire fighter in Malaysia. Fire fighters are responsible for saving lives and protecting property. The degree of risk we are exposed to should be directly proportional to the value of what we are trying to save. Risk a lot to save a lot, risk a little to save a little. The definition of a lot and a little seems to be where some of the issue lies. Nowadays many fire nozzles have been produced to fill customer purpose in order for the fire fighter to extinguish the fire more effectively. However, there is still problems arise when the fire fighter shoot out the water from the nozzle, where the backward thrust happen and this problem is dangerous for the fire fighter. In order to overcome the problem, the shock absorber is created to minimize the backward of the nozzle. One of the major problems occurs when the fire fighter try to extinguish the fire is low water pressure from the fire hydrant. Low water pressure seriously affects the performance of the fire fighter when they want to put out the fire and slow down the process to extinguish the fire. To optimize the performance of the nozzle even in low water pressure, one spring and baffle is put in the nozzle to optimize the water flow of the nozzle.
