dc.description.abstract This project aims to develop and design an alert system for vending machine by accepting the short message service (SMS) through global system mobile (GSM modem) to create a signal system for owners of the vending machine. Alert system for vending machine concept is a new issue that arises in modern technological society that depends on control technology. The advantages of mobile communications such as GSM technology is a potential solution for activities such as a remote control. GSM and SMS technology can be used to alert the owner of the machine. GSM module is used to send short messages (SMS) to the owner of the power status, the status of the water level, the status of coins and warn the owner if there is an attempt to break or steal money from the machine. The system is integrated with the ' microcontroller ' and the GSM network by using assembly language. MPLAB shielding used to achieve integration. The system operates when each sensor circuit receives damage or shortage of water; ' microcontroller ' will automatically send SMS via GSM to the owner of the machine. In other words, the system according to the instructions of the sensor circuit detects damage of the machine and microcontroller operating instructions. These prototypes were successfully produced an effective mechanism to harness the machine owner. en_US
