dc.description.abstract It is inconvenient for housekeeper parents to constantly watch over their baby while doing their work or chores. A method for estimating why a baby is crying In this research, a method for estimating the cause of the is proposed using frequency analyses of the voice baby crying. The baby age start from 4 month until 10 month. A method for understanding the reason why a baby is crying is proposed using frequency analyses of the baby’s voice. Here, especially two causes that are hunger and sleepiness are considered. It is clarified that the frequency spectrum of babies’ cries keeps to take large values in high frequency region when the baby is hungry, while the values becomes small in low frequency region, when the baby is sleepy. This system done using MATLAB, this system recognize baby voice and detect the highest peak and display the frequency amplitude and condition why baby cry, because of hungry orsleepy. MATLAB simulations show correctly the grouping value for sleepy and hungry when apply another sound in graphical user interface (GUI). Moreover, it is shown the threshold of the frequency to classify the hunger and sleepy depends on the babies month age. en_US
