dc.description.abstract The optimum temperature in photovoltaic (PV) is there need to be around 25°C. Based on research when the temperature is above than 25°C the efficiency and output will decrease. This effect can be as much as 0.5% for every 1 degree variation in temperature. When temperature as an issue, so it related to climate or ambient temperature in Malaysia that is 34°C, so to fit that both temperature is quite difficult. This project will develop PV-TE module and evaluate the performance design of passive cooling system. Hardware for Data Acquisition System has been successfully developed by using data acquisition devices. There are two variations of the data acquisition system was developed. Firstly, the data acquisition system is expected to measure the PV/TE electrical performance. This system will obtain the voltage and current measurement from I-V curves circuit and capable of displaying graphs of I-V curve. The second system is to measure the thermal performance. The main focus is to display the graph so that users may know that the system has been in a steady state. For the three different of output from a different methods PV, PV-TE and PV-TE with heatsink it shows increasing of power energy by TE module and heatsink 5.52watt, 6.21watt and 7.29watt. This application is suitable for home appliances, buildings and also industries that using high power consumption. By producing this project it applicable to use in country that always in high climate with sunlight such as Japan, India, Malaysia and others. This PV-TE hybrid system is a new technique in Malaysia. So with the acceptable features and suitable elements, PV-TE prototype is developed. These figures can also be used to plan for PV-TE system’s maintenance program whereby it only touch a low cost when using the solar as the main source and heatsink as passive cooling element. en_US
