Abstract:
The study on entrepreneurship and the factors that lead people to become entrepreneurs have developed into an
interesting topic for research.
encouragement for Malaysians to adopt entrepreneurship as their career choice. The purpose of this study is to
investigate the factors that determine the entrepreneurial intention among engineering technology students in
Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute. 63 engineering technology students of two different degree
programs were selected to be the study sample. Samples were drawn using the random sampling technique and a
self administered survey. This study adopts a quantitative approach using questionnaire as the survey instrument.
The questionnaire consists of 2 sections. The first section consists of questions on demographic profile of the
respondents. The second section consists of questions obtaining information about need for achievement, locus
of control, self efficacy, instrumental readiness and entrepreneurial intention. The data were analyzed using
descriptive statistics. The study has an implication to the university and the government in developing and
planning for entrepreneurship activities, program and education to increase the entrepreneurial intention among
engineering technology students.
