dc.description.abstract The effect of reducing heat transfer in the vehicle engine compartment to improve engine performance will be investigated. It is predicted that by reducing heat transfer and allowing the heat to exit from the engine compartment or allowing air into the engine compartment should increase the engine performance. A Proton Iswara 1.3 (MT) was been used for this experiment. The first task was been conducted by using normal bonnet (without scoop) and a normal bumper. For the second task the own buildup scoop and aftermarket bumper was been used. The vehicle was been tested on a dynamometer and each task was been conducted three times to get an accurate reading as possible. Based on the result, the maximum engine torque was increase about 6.19% meanwhile the maximum engine power increase about 4.01%. This is shows that the engine performance was increased due to more density of air drawn into combustion chamber. en_US
