dc.description.abstract Tool wear is a major concern in machining as it determines the tool life, the quality of the machined surface and its dimensional accuracy, consequently, the economics of cutting operations. Therefore, this project was conducted to study the tool wear behaviour in turning of T6061 Aluminium alloy using Silicon Coated Carbide (SiC) tool at the presence of conventional coolant and dry machining. For this project, the turning process was conducted using two depths of cut, 1.0 mm and 2.0 mm, two different cutting speeds, 1570m/min and 1963m/min with and without the application of conventional coolant as cutting fluid. For each setup of different factors, the flank wear and surface roughness value were recorded. The results showed that tool wear and surface roughness were significantly influenced by the different depth of cut, cutting speed and machining condition. en_US
