Abstract:
Inconel 718 are becoming a leading material among superalloy materials and
this is material is referred to a family of austenitic nickel-chromium-based
superalloys. These materials are known as then difficult to machine materials
because of hardness high temperature resistance. In this study, an attempt has been
made to model the machinibility evaluation through the response surface
methodology in the machining of Inconel 718 material using the CNC turning
machine.
The effects of machining parameters combined together are, cutting speed
(V), feed rate (f), depth of cut (d) with the cooling condition dry cutting and flow rate
of minimum quantity lubrication (MQL). The results from the machining are surface
roughness and hardness is investigated. This experiment was conducted by using
design of experiment (DOE), with two levels (full factorial) with four levels.
