dc.description.abstract The energy demand in air conditioning sector has increased rapidly in this country for the past few years due to global warming issues and the increase of life standard and demand. This will lead to the increase of electricity usage caused by conventional air conditioning system. It is also causing an environmental impact from the energy produced by fossil fuels. Nowadays, to minimize the environmental issues involving air conditioning system operation, we can use an alternative option to save energy and/or refrigerant usage for the system. Solar energy is a green, clean, free and sustainable energy source which can be used with the air conditioning system. In this study, an overview of the absorption chiller assisted with a solar panel is to be applied in the University Kuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute. This clean energy source of air conditioning system will replace the conventional air conditioning system to improve the energy usage, lowering costs in operation and minimize the environmental impact. From this study, we can see that this solar cooling system applied on the absorption chiller is one of the promising clean technologies available today. en_US
