Abstract:
Austempered Ductile Iron is a type of ductile cast iron which has been given an austempering heat treatment to improve its physical properties. This project was done to study the effect of
varying austenizing time (total time for heat treatment) of the Austempered Ductile Iron on its
physical properties. Properties investigated are the tensile strength and hardness. The tensile test
were conducted using the Plane Strain Fracture Toughness machine while the Hardness Test
were conducted using the Rockwell Hardness Tester with Brale penetrator
