Muslim Android Application for Zakat Selangor ( MAAZS )

Abstract

This study was design to help Muslim users to perform their obligation in performing Zakat. Current existing system available is in Web based system residing in Lembaga Zakat Selangor Web site. In the state of Selangor, the only source they only have is Lembaga Zakat Selangor Web based system for information on Zakat. It is found difficulty to view information on Zakat since it is the only way to retrive information on Zakat. With the introduction of Muslim Android Application for Zakat Selangor (MAAZS) not only provide detailed information on Zakat and Zakat calculator. With special features of Fidyah and Kifayah calculator, Skim Berkat approach which is the monthly based Zakat calculation and Map Locator to assist Zakat payee to get to the nearest Zakat counter, these features would ease the difficulty among Muslim. This research would contributes to the management of Lembaga Zakat Selangor in order to increase their Zakat collection in state of Selangor. The Muslim Android Application for Zakat Selangor approach is developed using Rational Unified Process (RUP) model and is being implemented using PHP and JQueary language and MySQL database for the Android Mobile Platform. Usability test and software metrics measurement were done to ensure the system’s usability and system’s metrics in terms of reusability and complexity.
