Plus Expressways Mobile Apps

Abstract

Most frequent PLUS Expressways users found it was difficult for them to access point-of-need information (e.g. toll fare, Rest and Service Area and etc) while traveling on the expressways. Currently, the only way to do so was through the web based application. Thus, the purpose of this study is to develop an Android apps named PLUS Expressways Mobile Apps that will be able to assist PLUS Exspressways users by providing on the spot information. PLUS Expressways Mobile Apps will focus on six functions which are toll fare calculation, estimated fuel cost calculation, facilities provided by PLUS, detecting current location, traffic update and PLUS information. The application utilizes Google Map Server and SQLite to operate its function for the highway PLUS user in detecting location of the facilities along their journey.
